The Rev Mike Angell engages communities in practices of prayerful shared discernment and action for justice. He began working with Cristosal in 2006, joined the board in 2019, and has been president since December of 2022. He is the rector of St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal church in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Previously he served for eight years as the rector of Church of the Holy Communion in St Louis, Missouri. He has degrees from the Virginia Theological Seminary and the University of San Diego and was ordained at St John’s Church, Lafayette Square in Washington DC in 2011. Between college and Seminary, Mike served for a year with the Young Adult Service Corps of The Episcopal Church at El Hogar, a foster home and school in Tegucigalpa, Honduras.
 
Mike is an award-winning preacher, writer, and activist. He is passionate about connecting across human boundaries to pursue Jesus’ vision of the Beloved Community. In our own day, he believes this work is critically connected to the work of ensuring equity and human rights. He lives in Albuquerque with his husband Ellis and their son.
