Iglesia Episcopal Anglicana de El Salvador ordains four people

On the Feast of the Epiphany, 6 January 2010, Bishop Martín Barahona and Bishop Medardo Gómez of the Iglesia Luterana de El Salvador ordained Manuel Esteban Osorio, Juan Pablo Alvarado y José Roberto Castro to the transitional diaconate and Rosa Irma Guerra de Alvarado to the priesthood. A SRO congregation at San Juan Evangelista in San Salvador participated in the historic ordination of the Revda Alvarado, the first Salvadoran woman of the IAES to be ordained to the priesthood (other Salvadoran women have been ordained but not in the IAES and two women from The Episcopal Church, Hannah Atkins and Amy Denny Zuniga were ordained to the priesthood by Bishop Barahona in El Salvador). Deacon Osorio will work at San Lucas, San Miguel and Cristo Rey, Bajo Lempa; Deacon Alvarado will serve Sma Trinidad, Sta Teresa; and Deacon Castro will be at San José, El Congo. Revda Alvarado will continue at San Francisco de Asis, Lourdes.
